Being Black...

To be Black in this society is to wear a white mask every day and play a role. Camouflaging your ethnicity every day. Smiling and being nice every day even though you don't care because you don't want to be labeled unfriendly, scary, or aggressive.

Being Black in a world that doesn't see you as a human being, that doesn't value you for what and who you are is fucking exhausting. But I wouldn't change my background for anything in the world.
